Zip N Pretty
"Fancy"
Born in 2004, Fancy is an Appaloosa mare standing at approximately 15.2HH. She joined the family in July 2013, when a friend called and offered her for free. She is my #1 partner and truly a perfect match to me. I trained her on the barrel pattern while I was learning myself - clearly she's a very forgiving mare. We started at 24 second runs, and worked our way all the way down to 16.7 seconds (2016). She loves running barrels as much as I do and it's very clearly her calling. She lights up and is the most honest, trustworth horse I've ever met. When we're not running barrels, she's an incredible trail horse - I haven't found anywhere she won't go. We love to gallop full speed and go swimming, along with enjoying lazy rides with friends!

My Coolest Secret
"Gracie"
Born in March 2016, Gracie is an Appaloosa/Quarter Horse mare standing at approximately 15HH. She joined the family in September 2016, but I met her for the first time in August and instantly fell in love with her. Her sweet, friendly, lovable personality has stuck with her as she's grown up and she quickly became a priceless member of the family. I've had the pleasure of starting her from the ground up and watching her grow from a cute little filly into a beautiful mare. I put the first 30 or so rides on her, and as of Spring 2020 she is going to a professional trainer to be smoothed out. Once she's a little more broke, she will be my trail horse and be shown in Western Pleasure until she's a bit older. By the age of six or seven I plan to start her as my next main barrel horse. With her willing disposition and sweet personality, she is already a winner in my books.

Cain
Born in 2012, Cain is most likely a Paint/Arab cross gelding standing at approximately 15HH. He joined the family in 2018 to become my main trail horse. He definitely has more go than whoa, but that's how I tend to like my horses! He is brave on the trail and perks up when he knows we're going on an adventure. In our first year together we went on a few offsite trail rides that included dense woods, hills, fields, and even swimming, and he tackled it all gracefully. He is happiest when he is challenged and loves to run! I love how respectful he is, even while being a fast horse. He has grown to be a great friend and a trustworthy partner. I hope to train him on the barrel pattern as well, to take him for fun to shows, but not as a main show horse. He belongs on the trails!

Mystic Scotch Bar
"Scotch"
Born in 1999, Scotch is an Appaloosa mare standing at approximately 15HH. She is my very first horse, who I have been riding since 2003, and have owned since 2005. Scotch is an incredible horse under saddle, winning many ribbons and trophies in Western Pleasure, Equitation, Halter, Showmanship, English Pleasure, and Hunter in Hand. She even won ribbons at the 4H state shows in 2006 and 2007. I retired her from showing after her 2007 season as she had soured at shows and neither of us were having fun anymore. However, she has continued to be a great horse to ride around the arena and even take on the trails. She is the definition of a moody mare on the ground, but her greatness under saddle makes up for it (usually!). She's taught me nearly everything I know and for that, I am grateful.

Hi there! My name is Leanne Dunn. If you were to talk to me for five minutes, you’d learn about my passion for horses (and animals in general), my love for my husband and the life we’ve created together, and how much I enjoy being creative and crafty. I’ve never really fit into any particular group or a certain lifestyle, so I’ve spent my adulthood finding myself and figuring out who I really am. Welcome to my blog, where you’ll find a little bit of everything that makes me, me: from horses, to DIY crafts, to my favorite outfits, and more. I hope you’ll find some inspiration, or at least enjoy some of my stories!

Comet
Rest in Peace
19?? - 2020
Believed to have been born some time in the early to mid 90's, Comet is a Quarter Horse gelding standing at approximately 15.3HH. He joined the family in 2011 and quickly became my first heart horse. He was a rescue from a farm down the road from me, where he was very thin and wasn't being cared for. He bounced back fairly quickly and in no time became my trail horse that I trusted with my life. Being a teenager during his first few years with me, we had many incredible adventures that lasted for hours and are some of my favorite memories to this day. We also went to small, local fun shows where we showed in barrels and pole bending, and any other speed events they had. He had a severe bowed tendon late 2012 so he retired from showing, but after a year of rest was able to continue as my trail horse. He was an incredible friend that rescued me as much as I rescued him. He passed peacefully in January 2020 at home and will forever remain a part of my family. Loved forever.
