It took me approximately 24 hours to get to breaking in the arena with a good barrel run, which is about 24 hours too long for me! However, I knew my good friend and owner of Rumoured Moments Photography would be coming by with her camera, so I held out.

Fancy was in a much better mood and seemed excited to get to it. She knows the difference between her barrel racing bit and her regular bit, the smart girl.

The best part of my first run at home? She turned the first barrel perfectly. It seems like at shows we always mess it up, but maybe the comfort of being on my own property and no show anxiety helped. The picture above is my new all time favorite of Fancy barrel racing!

After a very fulfilling and successful first barrel pattern on Fancy, I pulled Scotch out for a quick bareback ride. It was a perfect, relaxing end to the day.

Life is good. It was well worth the wait to have the arena put in. It makes me so excited to think of all the future rides at home!
