Never Give Up on Something You Can't Go a Day Without Thinking About

I've been horse crazy for as long as I can remember, and started taking riding lessons when I was five. But, there was a time where I stopped riding as much. I competed year round as a kid and, although they're some of my favorite memories and a huge part of who I am, I became burned out in 2007. Scotch and I weren't getting along, and it just wasn't as much fun anymore.

Luckily, shortly after the show season, I met an incredible horse named Doc who helped me rediscover my passion for horses. He was a retired reining horse that I had the pleasure of trail riding for a few years. Every ride was like going into another dimension. I trusted him with my life and he was like my therapy. Unfortunately, he was pretty old when I met him and he retired shortly after. He passed away a few years later, but the couple of years we spent together were unforgettable.

Jump forward to 2011, when I rescued Comet. He reminds me a lot of Doc in many ways, and he reminds me even on my worst days why I never gave up on horses. I retired from showing in Western Pleasure/Halter, but I discovered my love for trail riding and barrel racing. I'll never give up on chasing my horse dreams!

Doc, an incredible horse
