Stitch Fix Review #14 – April 2016

Y’all, I’m so excited to share my fix with you! It’s my absolute favorite time of the year, because almost five years ago, I met the love of my life while enjoying this beautiful weather! I can’t believe we’re coming up to five years already, so I had to ask for cute pieces for our anniversary weekend. Nothing too fancy though, because we’re probably going to spend the day out and about, and finish with a casual dinner. I’ve really been loving the romantic looks Stitch Fix has been posting to their Pinterest lately so I asked my stylist to incorporate that style if possible, along with anything floral. Stitch Fix also just added shoes (YAY!) so I had to mention that I love wedges, pumps, and flats. As always, my stylist did a perfect job of hitting all of my requests!
So, what did I get?
Brixon Ivy James Laser Cut Dress ($78)
The first item I pulled from the box was this beautiful royal blue Brixon Ivy dress. My first thought was that it was very similar to a dress I got in my last fix. My stylist mentioned in her note that, although she’d previously sent a dress with laser cut detail, she though the fun color and longer length would be perfect. And I have to admit, these are different enough for me that I didn’t mind the similarities. Plus, this dress finally has the perfect length I’ve been looking for! I would definitely wear this to the office, maybe with a cardi or blazer. The other major plus with this dress is the scalloped hem on the bottom, that’s one of my favorite details. The laser cut detail is cute and springy, and this color seems to look best on me with my hair and skin tone. The dress is a little tight in the bust, but I think I can make it work!

Look! It’s my first head to TOE Stitch Fix outfit! My first fix with shoes! With that being said, I love the height of the wedges! I love a little heel like this since I’m rather short, but they’re not so high that they’d be uncomfortable. The bottom strap over the toes is pretty tight, but I’m wondering if that may stretch a little, because the color is interesting and I like them as a whole. $65 is a lot of money to spend on shoes to me, but, I know if I should pay a little more for something it should be quality shoes and… jeans! $88 is a hard number to swallow for clothing, but these jeans definitely feel like they are expensive. Besides the fact that they’re just a smidge too tight in the waist, the fit is perfect- and I think they’ll probably stretch with wear. I love the length of these for being skinny jeans, the color is great, and, although distressed means I can’t wear them to work, I do like that detail for casual wear. And this top! It’s so much my style, I think my stylist can see inside my head sometimes. I love the pattern, the colors, the cold shoulder sleeves, and the little fringe detail on the hem (SO cute!). BUT – a big, bold but – it’s spaghetti straps, a.k.a NOT bra friendly, which is something very important for me. I love this shirt enough that I’ll try to make it work, but I definitely need straps to be wider!
Collective Concepts Demitri Button Down Blouse ($44)
I was so excited when I saw this top! The floral pattern is totally up my alley, it’s cute and fun but not overdone. The greatest thing about this top is that I can wear it with pretty much anything. I love it with jeans, dress pants, pencil skirts, and layering pieces over it, too. Tucked, untucked, somewhere in between… Now that’s my kind of shirt! It’s a great price point, it’s versatile, cute, comfortable, and unique. Here it is with a blazer, which I think is perfect for the new “smart casual” dress code at work:

Brixon Ivy James Laser Cut Dress – Keep! I probably would have sent back if I didn’t keep the other four, but hopefully if I lose a couple pounds the top won’t be so tight.
Overall, as usual, I am so pleased with this fix! It incorporated everything I asked for, and I just love how my stylist sends me things I would never pick up myself. My favorite piece this time around is the Collective Concepts floral blouse because it’s so versatile, flattering, and comfortable – yet I don’t think it’s something I’d notice in a store. In the spring and summer I’m finding I tend to wear more boho and romantic looks, which is something Stitch Fix as taught me and something I feel the Skies are Blue top has! And I’m honestly so happy to see that Stitch Fix offers shoes now, and I can’t wait to see what they’ll have in the future! I’ll be honest, I snooped around the internet quite a bit looking at shoes other Stitch Fixers have gotten, and I honestly don’t think I’ve seen any I love more than these. And even though the other two items had slight fit issues, they were entirely my style. I can’t wait to get my next fix and to share it with you!
