Stitch Fix Review #35 - December 2019

It's December, which means it's time for a Fix! I always ask for Stitch Fix gift cards, so I always schedule a fix close to Christmas. This time around I asked for bootcut jeans, cute and unique sweaters, a blazer, a dolman top, loafers, and/or dress pants. I like to give a lot of options in case the inventory isn't great.
So, what did I get?

Love Always Mia Back Detail Pullover ($44)
Judy Blue Lynn Bootcut Jean ($58)
I'm pretty sure my fall/winter wardrobe is 80% maroon sweaters, but what's one more? I love the V-neck on this - it's not too deep or too shallow. The fit is perfect and the price is right! And look at the adorable back detail!

Love Always Mia Back Detail Pullover ($44)
Judy Blue Lynn Bootcut Jean ($58)
I asked for a pair of bootcut jeans after the ones in my last fix just missed the mark. The good news is, these are perfect! The length is just right (I'm 5'2" and wearing these with cowboy boots). They're very stretchy, but after wearing them for a couple hours, it looks like they'll hold their shape through the day. These are pretty much my ideal jeans: no frills, no fringe, just good old solid jeans in a nice wash. Can I get five more, please?

Laila Jayde Bowie 3/4 Sleeve Dolman Knit Top ($58)
I love dolman tops! This one has a great fit and wonderful quality. It's very comfortable and thick enough that you don't need a tank top underneath. It's a good length - not tunic length, but long enough that if I stretch my arms, my stomach won't show. This is one of those tops you can wear for just about anything. I only wish it had been a different color, since I wear a lot of black pants for work.
West Kei Allan Surplice Tie Sleeve High Low Blouse ($42)
Tribal Fia Cuffed Cropped Trouser ($58)
This top is similar to one of my favorites from another Fix, and I did mention that I'd love a similar top, but this one is just a little off for me. The colors/pattern are okay - I love leopard print, but more so the original leopard print. I love the cross over detail, but the way it's made, you can see my bra with one wrong move. The under layer isn't quite wide enough. And, the length is awkwardly short. If I move my arm up at all, my stomach is out (and nobody wants to see that). So close to a win, but just off the mark.
I also asked for dress pants, but these puzzled me. They're supposed to be cropped, but they're a standard length. Again, I'm 5' 2", so "cropped" pants don't typically work for me. These fit great in the waist and thigh, but overall give me an old lady vibe. The waist is also just elastic, so I couldn't wear tucked shirts with it (which is at least 50% of my work wardrobe). I styled them in a way they don't look so ridiculous, but without heels, I look like my legs were cut off.
And what did I keep?
Love Always Mia Back Detail Pullover - Keep!
Judy Blue Lynn Bootcut Jean - Keep! My new favorite, go-to jeans!
Laila Jayde Bowie 3/4 Sleeve Dolman Knit Top - Keep!
West Kei Allan Surplice Tie Sleeve High Low Blouse - Sent back.
Tribal Fia Cuffed Cropped Trouser - Sent back.
I was a little disappointed there wasn't a blazer, as I really need a few more, but my wonderful stylist made sure to mention in her note that she couldn't find any that I'd like in their inventory at the time of my order. I always love reading the notes, my stylist is the best and knows me well! The dress pants were definitely off-style for me, but I'll try for some more next time. Overall, it was a great fix and I love the pieces I kept!
Never heard of Stitch Fix before?
What exactly is it? Stitch Fix is this great online service where a personal stylist sends you five items they think you’ll love. Here’s how it works:
1. Sign up! My referral link is: https://www.stitchfix.com/invite/zsbcmtchf4?sod=w&som=c
2. Fill out your “Style Profile”. Be honest and make sure you add lots of notes so your stylist can really get to know you! Also, I definitely recommend adding a Pinterest board, if you have one. Plus, if you’re like me and don’t like to spend too much on clothes, I’d add something along the lines of “Please be economical, I rarely spend more than $20 on any item”.
3. Set up when you would like your “Fix” shipped. You can have these sent out automatically every 2-3 weeks, every month, every other month, etc, OR you can just pick a date without setting up automatic shipments.
4. Add a note to your stylist. I always say something along the lines of, “I need cardigans for work” or, “I’m looking for a perfect date night dress”.
5. Pay a $20 styling fee (if you keep one item or more, that $20 goes towards your order!)
6. Get high-quality clothes and accessories delivered to your door! Try them on in the comfort of your home with your favorite other pieces. Take three days (or more, depending if your shipment comes early) to decide what you love and don’t love. Send any unwanted items back with free shipping. Keep all five items, get 25% off your whole order. Pay online and let them know what you think of each item. It’s the easiest, most convenient thing I’ve ever done.
