Stitch Fix Review #27 - March 2018

Is winter over yet? I'm so ready for warm sunshine, green grass, and buds on the trees! In honor of wishing for spring, I requested spring items for my new Fix. My best friend is getting married in a couple months and her bridal shower is coming up, so I also asked for a couple dress options.

So, what did I get?

Pixley Dabit Sheer Detail Blouse ($54) MIA Wilma Lace Up Wedge ($79)

The sheer detail of this shirt is absolutely beautiful! Although it's hard to see, the detail has a solid floral pattern and sheerness between. The color was also refreshing to see, since I don't have anything else like it in my closet. I love the fit, but the material seems to wrinkle very easily.

How cute are these shoes?! I have two bad knees now, following one of my horses falling on top of me during a ride back in November, so high heels are pretty much out of the question. These are high enough that I like the look, but low enough that I can walk in them. Love me a wedge heel! I think I'll get a lot of use out of these. Once the snow melts, that is!

Current Air Betsy Bell Sleeve Blouse ($54) MIA Wilma Lace Up Wedge ($79)

Bell sleeves! Yay! I'm always excited to see bell sleeves in my fixes, and these ones are beautiful. The top is also my favorite color, so that's a win! But, the fabric isn't stretchy which is rough with a larger bust, and there's a tie that's supposed to fall around the waist that doesn't quite look right. I do like the way it looks without it, though.

Nine Britton Castor Back Detail Knit Dress ($48)

The combination of the pattern and colors on this dress are perfection! The base color is one of my favorites to wear since it goes with my hair nicely. It's a comfortable fabric with... POCKETS! But, the pockets fall right on my hips, which makes them look even bigger than they already are. If I gain any weight, the dress won't be very flattering.

Fortune + Ivy Sabria Knit Dress ($38)

Speaking of beautiful patterns, look at this dress! I love stripes and floral together and this is the perfect balance. I love the fit of it and while I'd love it to be a liiiiittle bit longer, the length is okay. I'd wear it to work with tights and a blazer/denim jacket, and this would be a great candidate to wear to my best friend's bridal shower this month! Plus, the price is right!

And What Did I Keep?

Pixley Dabit Sheer Detail Blouse - Keep!

MIA Wilma Lace Up Wedge - Keep!

Current Air Betsy Bell Sleeve Blouse - Keep!

Nine Britton Castor Back Detail Knit Dress - Keep!

Fortune + Ivy Sabria Knit Dress - Keep! My favorite!

This fix is just what I asked for! The colors are Spring-y and I definitely have two nice dresses to pick from for the bridal shower. I feel like a couple of the pieces were slightly off (like the two tops), so if I end up not loving them, I might rehome them. I've been struggling with my weight this year, since after I got married everyone started feeding me a ton (and I didn't stop them). You know, the whole, "girl, you don't have a wedding dress to fit into anymore! Eat the pizza/cheese fries/fried chicken/potato skins/etc." My bad! But since I'm a little self conscious of my weight gain, I need to work on it so these pieces will look great. Hopefully by my next fix I'll feel a little more confident!

Never heard of Stitch Fix before?

What exactly is it? Stitch Fix is this great online service where a personal stylist sends you five items they think you’ll love. Here’s how it works:

2. Fill out your “Style Profile”. Be honest and make sure you add lots of notes so your stylist can really get to know you! Also, I definitely recommend adding a Pinterest board, if you have one. Plus, if you’re like me and don’t like to spend too much on clothes, I’d add something along the lines of “Please be economical, I rarely spend more than $20 on any item”.

3. Set up when you would like your “Fix” shipped. You can have these sent out automatically every 2-3 weeks, every month, every other month, etc, OR you can just pick a date without setting up automatic shipments.

4. Add a note to your stylist. I always say something along the lines of, “I need cardigans for work” or, “I’m looking for a perfect date night dress”.

5. Pay a $20 styling fee (if you keep one item or more, that $20 goes towards your order!)

6. Get high-quality clothes and accessories delivered to your door! Try them on in the comfort of your home with your favorite other pieces. Take three days (or more, depending if your shipment comes early) to decide what you love and don’t love. Send any unwanted items back with free shipping. Keep all five items, get 25% off your whole order. Pay online and let them know what you think of each item. It’s the easiest, most convenient thing I’ve ever done.
