Summertiiiiime! I still can't take my favorite barrel racing horse out because of an injury, so I haven't been doing much this summer besides work. I've been looking forward to this fix! I asked for summer pieces to wear to work, and I also wanted to try another romper. Specifically, I was looking for comfortable dresses, sleeveless tops, and a kimono.

So, what did I get?

Lux & Co Bernice 2fer Knit Maxi Dress

This dress is amazing! I love maroon, I love floral, and I love stripes. This dress has it all. Besides a beautiful pattern, this dress makes me feel the best I've felt in months. I've been struggling with my weight, but I don't feel that in this dress. I feel pretty, and that's worth a million bucks to me right now. Plus, it's a soft, comfortable dress with stretch, which makes it perfect for any day. And it will transition into fall perfectly! I'll be getting a lot of use out of this!

French Grey Melcy Brushed Knit Dress ($42)

I'm usually not a fan of dresses that I have to wear with a strapless bra, but this dress is so flattering! The pattern is not something I'd usually go for, but I love it and the beautiful colors. It's a nice length, so I'll probably wear it to work with a blazer or denim jacket.

Emory Park Caley Open Kimono

Judy Blue Adelene Cuffed Distressed Girlfriend Jean

This kimono is cute in a lot of ways, but there's something just a little off for me. I think it's the length of the sleeves - I wish they were just a touch longer. I'm weird, I prefer kimono sleeves to hit right below the elbow and not any higher. Just not a huge fan of my arms. But, on the positive side, the pattern is so much fun and my style, and I love that it's longer in the back!

The jeans are also just off the mark for me. I don't like distressed jeans because I can't wear them to work, and that's typically where I wear most of my jeans. The fit was okay, but not great. I did like the wash, though!

Jack By BB Dakota Sedona Romper

Not gonna lie, I don't like this one. I live near Winchester, Virginia, which is where the Apple Blossom Festival is held every Spring. And everywhere you go, it's green and pink. Green and pink, green and pink, soooo sick of green and pink. The fit was also off with the bust not fitting properly, and where the waist sits makes me look larger. I also don't love the ruffled weird sleeve-ish part. And, it wasn't stretchy. Not comfortable.

And what did I keep?

Lux & Co Bernice 2fer Knit Maxi Dress - Keep! Love! Ahhh!

French Grey Melcy Brushed Knit Dress - Keep!

Emory Park Caley Open Kimono - Sent back.

Judy Blue Adelene Cuffed Distressed Girlfriend Jean - Sent back.

Jack By BB Dakota Sedona Romper - Gladly sent back.

Even though this Fix wasn't super successful at a 2/5, the two pieces I did keep are wonderful and will get a lot of use. The striped/floral dress is so great because it makes me feel great, which makes the whole fix worth it. The good news is, my next fix should fall around the beginning of fall, which is my favorite season! So I'll look forward to a great fall fix coming in a couple months!

Never heard of Stitch Fix before?

What exactly is it? Stitch Fix is this great online service where a personal stylist sends you five items they think you’ll love. Here’s how it works:

2. Fill out your “Style Profile”. Be honest and make sure you add lots of notes so your stylist can really get to know you! Also, I definitely recommend adding a Pinterest board, if you have one. Plus, if you’re like me and don’t like to spend too much on clothes, I’d add something along the lines of “Please be economical, I rarely spend more than $20 on any item”.

3. Set up when you would like your “Fix” shipped. You can have these sent out automatically every 2-3 weeks, every month, every other month, etc, OR you can just pick a date without setting up automatic shipments.

4. Add a note to your stylist. I always say something along the lines of, “I need cardigans for work” or, “I’m looking for a perfect date night dress”.

5. Pay a $20 styling fee (if you keep one item or more, that $20 goes towards your order!)

6. Get high-quality clothes and accessories delivered to your door! Try them on in the comfort of your home with your favorite other pieces. Take three days (or more, depending if your shipment comes early) to decide what you love and don’t love. Send any unwanted items back with free shipping. Keep all five items, get 25% off your whole order. Pay online and let them know what you think of each item. It’s the easiest, most convenient thing I’ve ever done.
