Stitch Fix Review #33 – April 2019

Life has been crazier than usual. I quit my job in February, started and completed my real estate salesperson pre-licensing course in under three weeks, took the licensing test (and passed it on my first try, yay!) and now am starting my new career as a real estate agent! Since I’m coming from a job that was on the casual side of business casual (AKA jeans every day), I needed a whole new professional wardrobe. Enter Stitch Fix to save the day, once again! I requested items to grow my professional wardrobe – blazers, cardigans, blouses, knee-length dresses, and dress pants were mentioned. Basically, just about anything would be helpful!
This review is both exciting and scary to share. Scary because I’ve gained 30 pounds since the wedding, and feeling very self conscious about it. But, exciting because I got some amazing pieces!
So, what did I get?

Nine Britton Abigail Brushed Knit Midi Dress ($54)
This. Dress. Is. Everything. I had this dress pinned on my Stitch Fix Pinterest board and my stylist mentioned this was her top pick for me (even before seeing my Pinterest). I can see why! I was nervous that the midi length wouldn’t be flattering on my 5’2″ frame, but I was wrong. The slit breaks up the length and even adds height, in my opinion. The cut couldn’t be more flattering! I haven’t posted pictures of myself (or really taken any) in months due to my recent weight gain, but I actually feel pretty in this. AND – I’m not even wearing any shapewear. The colors and pattern are gorgeous and definitely my style, and everything about it is professional and perfect for work. (I’d add a blush pink blazer, if I had one! I’m searching!) All in all, this is probably my favorite thing I’ve ever gotten from Stitch Fix and I couldn’t be happier to have it! (Anyone have any of the other colors and want to let go of them? I need this in all the colors!)

Renee C Jory Split Neck Top ($48)
I peeked when I saw my Fix had shipped, and I felt just meh about this top when I saw it online. However, I never fully judge anything without trying them on. I was happy to see this shirt was much nicer in person than it looked online. I love the colors and the pattern, and it fits me well. I also happen to have a lot of other pieces that will go with it! I was happy to see how well it matched my red pants I had just picked up from the Loft (clearance! Yay!). The only thing I can pick on for this shirt is, it almost looks like an arrow pointing down at the bottom of the shirt. Sorry, now you can’t un-see it, too.
Skies Are Blue Amande Modal Scuba Blazer ($88) Renee C Jory Split Neck Top ($48)
Like I said, this top goes with so much! Including this crazy comfortable blazer! The fit of this blazer is great, and it’s not too formal. It feels of high quality and breathes pretty well, too. I also love the color; it’s more of a unique color than you’d usually see for a blazer. My hopes for my fix were pieces that were professional but not too “mature” looking, and this fits the bill!
Fun2Fun Lillian V-Neck Blouse ($40)
This top is so versatile! I love the pattern, which looks like little feathers. The neutral black and white will go with pretty much anything, and it’s lightweight- perfect for Spring and Summer! It’s a little thin, so I’d likely have to wear a cami underneath, which isn’t my favorite thing, but it’s still a great piece!
And What Did I Keep?
Nine Britton Abigail Brushed Knit Midi Dress – KEEP! I need this in every color! Skies Are Blue Amande Modal Scuba Blazer – Keep! So comfortable! Renee C Jory Split Neck Top – Keep! Pink Clover Penton Two Pocket Cardigan – Keep! So soft! Fun2Fun Lillian V-Neck Blouse – Keep!
Overall, this was an incredible fix. It might even be my favorite fix of all time, but for different reasons than usual. It’s so special to receive something that when you put it on, you feel beautiful… when you haven’t felt that way in a long time. Not even when I’ve been out shopping locally, trying on dozens of dresses at a time, have I found anything that makes me feel this great. Besides the dress, everything else was spot on to my needs and felt so tailored to my style. Plus, it was actually one of my cheapest Fixes to date! I’m so appreciative of my stylist, who has been styling me for years. She styled me when I was 120 pounds, and now, at my heaviest. Besides weight changes, she’s also styled me through all my different style phases. Every time, she just gets me! I’m so grateful for Stitch Fix, and my amazing stylist, for bringing some confidence to my life.
Never heard of Stitch Fix before?
What exactly is it? Stitch Fix is this great online service where a personal stylist sends you five items they think you’ll love. Here’s how it works:
1. Sign up! My referral link is: https://www.stitchfix.com/invite/zsbcmtchf4?sod=w&som=c
2. Fill out your “Style Profile”. Be honest and make sure you add lots of notes so your stylist can really get to know you! Also, I definitely recommend adding a Pinterest board, if you have one. Plus, if you’re like me and don’t like to spend too much on clothes, I’d add something along the lines of “Please be economical, I rarely spend more than $20 on any item”.
3. Set up when you would like your “Fix” shipped. You can have these sent out automatically every 2-3 weeks, every month, every other month, etc, OR you can just pick a date without setting up automatic shipments.
4. Add a note to your stylist. I always say something along the lines of, “I need cardigans for work” or, “I’m looking for a perfect date night dress”.
5. Pay a $20 styling fee (if you keep one item or more, that $20 goes towards your order!)
6. Get high-quality clothes and accessories delivered to your door! Try them on in the comfort of your home with your favorite other pieces. Take three days (or more, depending if your shipment comes early) to decide what you love and don’t love. Send any unwanted items back with free shipping. Keep all five items, get 25% off your whole order. Pay online and let them know what you think of each item. It’s the easiest, most convenient thing I’ve ever done.
